About

Two sisters-in-law who actually like each other, sharing our journey as we continue to grow and learn.

Sam and Christine

Our Story

Every good story starts at the beginning. Ours started when Sam was 15 and Christine (known back then as Teenie Weenie) was only 5—when Sam started dating Christine's older brother. (It would be weird if he wasn't older than Christine.)

We won't drag you down memory lane with stories of flour fights, all-night Romy and Michele's High School Reunion marathons, or Sam crashing Christine's honeymoon. We'll just tell you this: we're sisters-in-law who actually like each other. And we're grateful to share our journey with you.

Sam Bauer

Sam Bauer

"No Boo-Hooey Crap"

Communications Consultant • Author of Rebound • Kick-Ass Mom

Sam started her journey toward high-vibing with the universe more than 10 years ago when life was just ho-hum and her right eye twitched constantly because she was obsessed with controlling everything.

She learned how to sit in the "white space," realized that control is really just fear in disguise, and experienced the miracles that happen when you stop living in resistance. (Yes, manifesting a front-row parking spot counts as a miracle.)

Sam is the kick-ass mother to two kick-ass adult children, Madeleine and Maxwell. Her kids would describe her as an intense mom, but they came out OK. In fact, her signature mantra—"balls on, tits up!"—got plenty of airtime during the drama of their high school years.

Her son Max recently called from college to share that he wanted to drop a class during fraternity rush. Sam let him have it. Max then called his sister Maddy: "Nothing like a good bitch-slap from Sam Bauer!"

She's married to her high school sweetheart, Paul (also known as St. Paul for putting up with Sam... everyone loves Paul... they tolerate Sam). Sam is passionate about the power of the mind, she rejects boo-hooey crap, and she's fired up to share her journey.

Christine Goforth

"The Awakening"

Entrepreneur • Substitute Teacher • Social Media Manager

Christine's journey is more dramatic—and certainly more recent.

Overnight, Christine and her husband lost their jobs when the company they worked for went under. The CEOs—people they'd known and trusted for decades—had engaged in criminal activity. Their retirement accounts were drained, leaving them to literally start over.

This was the cherry on top for Christine who, after various other traumas, had always lived waiting for the other shoe to drop. During a family card game at Mema's house with her two other sisters and Sam, Christine sat sobbing over the injustice, angry at herself for even having hope.

Sam listened. Then gave her some tough love. She didn't tell Christine to "get over it"—she told her to choose to think differently: Yes, this sucks, but this doesn't serve me. I want to be released from this.

Sam shared the greats: You Are a Badass, Good Vibes Good Life, The Universe Has Your Back. Christine dug in and did the work. She got all high-vibey and things started to change. The circumstances didn't change—but how she reacted to them did. And in return, her life began to change.

She's married to the funniest guy on the planet, Greg, and stays busy managing her two teenage daughters—the two most kind-hearted young women you'll ever meet.

Origin Story

The Birth of the Podcast

It was a perfect summer evening in July (which is not normal in California's Central Valley—it's usually hotter than hell).

Sam and Christine—along with their husbands—were enjoying a Dave Matthews cover band at a winery, and the vibes were up. The sun was shining on us that evening (not literally, there were lots of shade trees). We came with the intention to have fun. What we didn't know was that we'd walk away that night with a new purpose and a vibration so powerful it couldn't be ignored.

Over a bottle of wine (it might have been the second bottle, don't judge), we were talking about alignment with the universe, the power of the mind, and how our thoughts literally create reality.

Christine yells out over the music: "Oh my God, we should do a podcast!"
Sam responds: "Sisters in law!"
Christine adds: "...of attraction!"

And here we are.
