★ About this episode

Sam went back to school shopping for a college senior who insists he doesn’t need a thing. Christine spent two and a half hours on the side of the road with two blown tires on the way home from vacation. Both of them handled it the same way, and that’s the whole point of this one. Notice the spiral, name it, and come back to the moment actually in front of you. Sam and Christine pick up where The Courage to Be Disliked left off and get honest about what living in the here and now looks like when life is genuinely uncertain, from Sam’s mom’s health to a week in LA where nothing existed but the trial. Christine’s question keeps doing the heavy lifting: what is your problem right now, in this exact moment? Usually there isn’t one. The problem is the thought about what comes next.

Highlights from this episode

Life is a series of moments. You gotta dance in those moments of life, and you can enjoy it as long as you live in the here and now.
— Samantha Bauer
It's a Tuesday and you're in your bathing suit watering your lawn. You have the time off right now. It's okay to enjoy this.
— Christine Goforth
If you're in that moment, there are no problems. You have simply what is in front of you. The only problem is something your brain has created about a fear of what's gonna happen next.
— Samantha Bauer
A reaction is the history of how you've behaved and done things. Your response is who you really are now, and it takes a lot more practice for that to become automatic.

Samantha Bauer(00:01.186)
Welcome back to Sisters in Law of Attraction. I'm Sam. And we're so so happy you're back with us. And Christine, it's always fun to see your cute little face. Well, last time we finally wrapped up the book.

Christine Goforth(00:04.206)
And I'm Christine.

Christine Goforth(00:10.064)
It's so good to see you. I'm so excited for these episodes.

Samantha Bauer(00:17.366)
the courage to be disliked and we talked about at the end, you know, what what is the purpose of life and the importance of living, you know, in in the here and now. And the image that I absolutely loved in the book was dancing in the moments, right? So so the philosopher said, based on Adlerian psychology, that life is a series of moments. And the amount of times that I have

Samantha Bauer(00:17.366)
you rehearsed that in my head of late, given the current challenges of my mom's health and and uncertainty with that. going back to, you know, dancing in the just dancing in the moments and not getting caught up in future worry and fear and the what ifs. Yeah.

Christine Goforth(01:06.576)
Right. Yep. Yep. It's so important. I yeah. Go ahead, sorry.

Samantha Bauer(01:12.322)
Yeah. And yeah, no, I I just I just I absolutely love that that whole imagery and you know and talking to to my kids. Max is gonna start his last year of college. Like cannot, cannot even wrap my head around that one. So

Christine Goforth(01:25.276)
That is

Christine Goforth(01:25.276)
Where did time go?

Samantha Bauer(01:29.834)
It's so crazy. And so, you know, you s when you send your kids off to college, you have an empty nest, but it's kind of a fake empty nest because they do come back. I mean, they don't it right? It's total teas. And so they go away and then they come back and they come back for holidays, you know, and so i the times that you know, the amount of time I should say that he spends, quote unquote, at home, you know, definitely shortened over over the years, you know, particularly, you know

Christine Goforth(01:38.387)
Right. What a tease.

Christine Goforth(01:45.904)
Mm-hmm.

Samantha Bauer(01:59.781)
when he gets internships and gets a job and you know so anyhow, so he's he's here for just a few days before before he you know heads off to to do his final year of college and and I just told him the day I said you know what we are gonna go back to school shopping and

Christine Goforth(02:11.388)
So exciting.

Christine Goforth(02:18.662)
I love this. I love this so much.

Samantha Bauer(02:21.45)
And he looks at me, he goes, Mom, I think I'm good. Like I said, well, I think you need like a first day of school outfit.

Christine Goforth(02:24.754)
You need a new backpack, you need a first day of school outfit, you need a pencil pouch, hello?

Samantha Bauer(02:33.518)
Right. So this morning and of course I wasn't gonna get him out of out of bed this morning for the Target run. He's like, I he can't even, you know, in indulge me at all. But I happily went to, you know, the school supply section, the back to school section, you of Target in the back of the of the store and of course it was

Christine Goforth(02:42.354)
Can't be bothered with that.

Christine Goforth(02:52.282)
With all the other moms of little boys.

Samantha Bauer(02:54.582)
Right. And it and of course everything was totally picked over because I think the first day of school for most folks, you know, here in in for local public schools is, you know, in a matter of days. So anyhow, so I I I had I had a little hard time. But I I I got him a few things for his backpack.

Christine Goforth(03:09.833)
my god, I love that.

Samantha Bauer(03:12.302)
So I was re I you know, it's just really really reflective and you know, it's just and then it you know, again, live and I got a little sad and then I'm like, No, live in the moments. Life is a series of moments. And we talked about the kinetic, the which is linear, right? And so it's getting from point A to point B. And then the philosopher in the book is talking about, you know, no, you you gotta dance in the those

Christine Goforth(03:16.251)
Yeah.

Christine Goforth(03:22.683)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Goforth(03:32.368)
Yeah. Yeah.

Samantha Bauer(03:42.306)
those spots, those moments of of life and it's very energy real and you can you can enjoy it as long as you live in in the here and now. Easier, totally easier said.

Christine Goforth(03:43.92)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Goforth(03:52.496)
Right. I love that imagery too because it makes it feel like every moment can be a joyful one.

Samantha Bauer(03:58.351)
Exactly. Yeah. No, and and and you know, like we've or I talked offline with you, you know, the challenges that I'm having with my mom's health and again all the uncertainty. So easy to be, you know, completely choked by fear and what's gonna happen and all that. Yep, right. And I and and I go back to what you said too, Christine, on a

Christine Goforth(04:11.09)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Goforth(04:15.942)
Yeah. The mind, the runaway train, right? With the thoughts and and

Samantha Bauer(04:28.536)
former prior podcast and you just said, Listen, what's your problem right now? In this moment there's no problem.

Christine Goforth(04:34.29)
Mm-hmm. In this moment. Right.

Samantha Bauer(04:39.03)
In this exact moment. And that's true. I mean, you're thinking, like, okay, well, this is going wrong with her, and then what if this happens? Okay, take a deep breath and step back. In this moment, we just have this moment. And right now I don't have a problem, right? So it's just really bringing myself, you know, back to it. And you know we're doing something right when we I go back and listen to the pod. And I'm like, yeah, that's what I'm supposed to do. I should listen I should listen to myself. I should listen to Grace, right?

Christine Goforth(04:55.804)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Goforth(05:00.08)
Mm-hmm. That's a good idea. Yep. Exactly. Right. Isn't it so much easier to take the advice from other people and not from ourselves? I just was having this conversation with my husband before we recorded. we've had a insane, you know, crazy couple weeks, and I was telling him I'm just feeling really anxious right now and overwhelmed. And he's like,

Samantha Bauer(05:09.024)
Yeah.

Samantha Bauer(05:14.294)
And and none yeah.

Samantha Bauer(05:24.066)
Sure.

Christine Goforth(05:29.956)
Okay, Christine, you know, everything's okay. Like there we we have people coming over to stay with us tonight. And it's like the house is is clean enough. Nobody's gonna care. Like, do you act like who cares? Everything's gonna be okay. And exactly. Exactly. Like, but the but the baseboards. Like the baseboards, really? He said

Samantha Bauer(05:42.808)
Right.

Samantha Bauer(05:42.808)
Right, right. The courage to be disliked. If if they if they hate your house and they don't like you, then that's a y that's a them problem.

Christine Goforth(05:59.507)
Christine, you can choose to either think like, okay, they're gonna come in and think, my gosh, what a bunch of slobs. This is so dirty and messy. It's not. Or you can say, hey, we just had a crazy busy couple weeks and they get to come stay here and they're gonna understand and exactly. And I said, I know I know better than to let all of the overwhelm.

Samantha Bauer(06:09.026)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Samantha Bauer(06:16.888)
And we're and we're happy to have you. And we're happy to have you. And we're present and yeah.

Christine Goforth(06:29.116)
kind of overtake. But even in that moment, it was like, okay, you're right. Thank you for checking me because I needed that.

Samantha Bauer(06:30.776)
Right.

Samantha Bauer(06:30.776)
Yep, yep, yep, yep. Yeah, no, it's it's it's a nice it's definitely a nice little little anchor and we should we should spend, you know, more time listening to ourselves.

Christine Goforth(06:44.69)
R well and I it's so funny too because I I was standing outside watering the lawn the other day and it thinking in terms of okay, what else do I have to get done today? And it's like y how lucky are you? I can hear tr busy traffic going by on the street behind us and I'm like, It's a Tuesday and you're in your bathing suit watering your lawn. Like

Samantha Bauer(07:03.566)
Yeah. Yeah.

Samantha Bauer(07:10.635)
Yeah.

Christine Goforth(07:11.482)
You don't have to be like you have the time off right now. You're not teaching right now. It's okay to like enjoy this. You're not right. It doesn't it's like be so grateful for that. You're not having to go to work or take a trip that you don't want to take or you're in you're not in a hospital or in whatever it is. You're not on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck for hours on end.

Samantha Bauer(07:15.692)
Right. Yeah. Just be in your bathing suit while you're lawn. It yeah. And and be grateful. Yeah. Yeah.

Samantha Bauer(07:35.255)
Right.

Samantha Bauer(07:35.255)
Right. Well, and it it i it that's a perfect

Samantha Bauer(07:35.255)
Example of what we're talking about today, you know, digging deeper about the importance of living in the in the here and now because we constantly are sabotaging ourselves, right? So so there was a recent article in Psychology Today, it was it's an oldie but goody, it was originally published in in 2008. And the article makes the point that you know life unfolds in the present, but we steal the present by worrying, right, about the past or the future until you're

Christine Goforth(08:09.916)
Mm-hmm.

Samantha Bauer(08:12.918)
point right you're you're in this beautiful summer moment in your bathing suit watering your lawn on a random Tuesday why why sabotage that moment why steal that moment from you by worrying about okay I gotta go

Christine Goforth(08:27.516)
Mm-hmm.

Samantha Bauer(08:29.676)
Back to work next week, or I gotta do this. And then to and exactly to that point, you know, the article says perfect example too. We all do it, right? We are constantly, you know, fantasizing about taking that beautiful vacation and and thinking about it. And then when it comes, what do we do? We worry about all what's right, right.

Christine Goforth(08:46.586)
Mm mm.

Christine Goforth(08:50.607)
my gosh, I don't want to have to go home in three days or two days, one day. Mm-hmm. It's a countdown Yeah. Uh-huh.

Samantha Bauer(08:55.498)
Yeah, we worry about yes, about the about the work that's piling up while we're on vacation instead of just totally, you know, being present in that moment. And you know, of course, we've all we've talked about it, you know, many times on the pod, but I think what we

Samantha Bauer(08:55.498)
the the the importance of this conversation is really to continue to anchor ourselves on the importance of living in that moment because then you can take the deep breath, you can feel the joy, you can, you know, lean into the gratitude. And that's where, you know, like Adlerian psychology taught us, we just went through, that's where life is. That's life is a s again a series of moments. You know, and there

Christine Goforth(09:26.866)
Yep. Yep.

Christine Goforth(09:39.058)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Goforth(09:42.449)
Right.

Samantha Bauer(09:43.904)
is no chasing down the meaning of life. There is no meaning to life. Remember that line? And we're like, wait, what? Exactly. Right.

Christine Goforth(09:48.083)
Mm-hmm. Yeah. We assign it ourselves, which makes so much sense. yeah, no, I we were coming back, you know the story already, but coming back from a nice long vacation. It was the first one we'd take in the summer. I was so excited. We celebrated my birthday. We come home and the electric car got a flat tire.

Samantha Bauer(10:07.458)
Yep. Yep.

Christine Goforth(10:14.482)
And then it was two and a half hours on the side of the road and a tow truck drive. And you don't know if you know this, but Lil PSA, if you get an electric vehicle, the batteries are very heavy, so it tends to wear down the back tires between 25,000 and 30,000 miles. And they go at the same time. So so that was fun. So not one but two tires. Any

Samantha Bauer(10:35.65)
Okay, good to know. that's fun. Super fun. So fun.

Christine Goforth(10:42.93)
Anyway, so the whole time we're sitting there, and because it's an electric car, we have the air conditioner, we have a show going. We have a 14 and 16-year-old, almost 14 and 16, in the backseat, hanging out, doing their thing. Like it was so easy. And again, it's it it was a hundred and something outside. We are able to be with the air conditioning, and there are trucks whizzing by us so quickly.

Samantha Bauer(10:55.52)
Right.

Samantha Bauer(11:02.616)
Yeah.

Samantha Bauer(11:08.044)
Right.

Christine Goforth(11:10.994)
And so there's so many reasons to be like, my God, what freaking out, right? And I definitely went through that initially. However, what I can say is that when things like this happen now, I am so aware of like, okay, this is the feeling, this is why I'm feeling it. And being able to, okay, I know.

Samantha Bauer(11:11.917)
Yeah. a little on edge. Yeah. Right.

Christine Goforth(11:38.001)
This is, you know, I thought we were gonna get home super early. Now I don't know if we're even getting home today. And okay, but you know what? We have we don't have toddlers. They're not screaming and crying. We also had our dog. She did great. Like all of the little things where it's like, okay, just stay present. We're okay right now. We're safe. Help is on the way. It'll be a while, but it's gonna be okay. and it's just yeah. Yeah.

Samantha Bauer(11:43.724)
Right.

Samantha Bauer(11:48.963)
Right. Right. Yep. Right.

Samantha Bauer(12:00.642)
Right. Well, and it took it it took the awareness, right? And you've you've talked about that too. It's just really instead of you spiraling with all of the, you know, death, doom, and destruction, you were like, Okay, I'm gonna stop in this moment, I'm gonna I'm gonna, you know, observe these thoughts and then reframe. And so it requires that awareness.

Christine Goforth(12:10.908)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Goforth(12:18.844)
Yep. Well, yeah. And and I think the but hopefully eventually I'll get to a point where the awareness comes before the the feeling, right? Or like the panic, right? but I can say that it is cool to go through and my husband and I were saying this together at the same time, like I feel like we are going through these experiences because

Samantha Bauer(12:33.27)
Right, the panic.

Christine Goforth(12:49.604)
It shows how much we've grown from, you know what I mean? Where I would have been a mess had this happened a year ago, right? The whole time I would have been a mess. Rather, this time, okay, 15, 20 minutes until we figured out part of what was happening. It was like, okay, I kind of cycled through it and I was okay, you know? And so just that work and proving to yourself that okay, it is working.

Samantha Bauer(12:51.67)
Yeah, yes, absolutely. Right. Right. Yeah.

Samantha Bauer(13:11.532)
Yep. Yeah.

Christine Goforth(13:19.8)
And and re even reframing that as far as like, why did this have to happen? Okay, well, maybe it happened to test you. Maybe you're not giving yourself enough credit and so the universe is testing you to say, you know what? Look at how how much you've grown.

Samantha Bauer(13:26.69)
Right.

Samantha Bauer(13:31.811)
Yep, right. Right? Well, and it goes back to the conversation we had too, you know, and again, I it's just fresh in the mind that the the book Courage to Be Disliked, you know, when he talked about, you know, trauma's not real. Right? Bad bad shit's gonna happen to you. Like it does, it happens, but the trauma is the meaning that you attach to the bad shit that happens to you, right? And then you see you can live in that traumatic state, or you can just say, Yeah, this kind of sucks, but here's all the things that here are the resources we have, number

Christine Goforth(13:43.228)
Sure.

Christine Goforth(13:48.796)
Mm-hmm.

Samantha Bauer(14:06.128)
Right.

Christine Goforth(14:06.852)
Right, how lucky are we that we were able to call a tow truck driver who we got it was fifty miles free, we were at forty nine point three. Like all the little stuff, right? Isn't that a blessing? It is what a blessing that was. And then, you know, of course we get there and they're like, it's two tires, not just one. No, that's okay. But yeah, it's all a lesson.

Samantha Bauer(14:16.98)
Well, isn't that a blessing? Yeah, right.

Samantha Bauer(14:27.654)
Yeah, yeah. So right. Yeah. well and and I and I think so recently I went to LA with my husband, your brother, who's an attorney and he was defending

Samantha Bauer(14:27.654)
a client in a trial and it was a pretty intense week. and what was was cool about it was obviously to observe Paul, you know, in his in his, you know, habitat or whatever and his element. And, you know, I contributed, you know, I helped with a little bit, you know, I was her jury selection consultant.

Christine Goforth(14:57.082)
Mm-hmm. Element, right? Yeah. Yeah.

Christine Goforth(15:07.675)
I love it.

Samantha Bauer(15:08.85)
And helped with you know closing statement like the night before. But it was very intense, right? And so when you are so engaged in something that's all consuming, it is such a blessing because the whole rest of the world melts away. You're not distracted by, you know, the news headlines of the day. You're not distracted by social media. You're not distracted about, you know, just the stupid crap that comes into our lives on a constant

Christine Goforth(15:12.358)
That's so cool.

Christine Goforth(15:31.065)
right.

Samantha Bauer(15:38.657)
Constant distraction reel. And it was everyone's like, my God, how is it? I said, I have to tell you, given all the challenges, you know, personally in my life at the moment, what a gift it was to be fully engaged in something for an entire week where nothing else mattered. Yeah.

Christine Goforth(15:40.71)
Mm-hmm.

Christine Goforth(15:52.635)
Right.

Christine Goforth(15:59.441)
Yep. Being able to here's the thing. You had to go and be with him. You of course, you're a white support. And so you don't have any other option, right? Like you're there and you're helping him and you're so focused. I mean, this is

Samantha Bauer(16:05.496)
Yep. Yep. Yep.

Christine Goforth(16:19.748)
Obviously not life and death situation, but it's these are serious matters and to be able to focus all of your thoughts and attentions and quite literally not be available for anything or anyone else. That is that is so freeing. And and even though it was work and even though it was serious and it was intense and

Samantha Bauer(16:22.488)
Sure. Right.

Samantha Bauer(16:29.728)
Yes. Yes. Yep.

Samantha Bauer(16:38.678)
Yes.

Christine Goforth(16:47.332)
required a lot of focus and energy and I'm certain mental capacities that are stretched beyond. but it's I talk too long to bring my point home.

Samantha Bauer(16:52.62)
Yep.

Samantha Bauer(17:01.326)
It was a really good distraction.

Christine Goforth(17:05.998)
It was a really saying, okay, so that it was a good distraction. So even though it was all of those maybe people would think negative, right? It was so good for you because it allowed you to not have to worry about your own real life responsibilities, if you will. You were able to put that stuff on the back burner and say, you know what? Everything's okay. You came back and everything was fine. Nothing terrible, horrible happened, right?

Samantha Bauer(17:14.861)
Right.

Samantha Bauer(17:22.125)
Right. And you real and you realize right.

Samantha Bauer(17:32.481)
Everything was fine. Right. And also as things would come through on my phone, like, yeah, I can't care about that right now. And that's and that's my new

Christine Goforth(17:38.832)
Yeah, I don't have capacity for that.

Samantha Bauer(17:41.047)
Yep. And that's my new favorite thing. And it's kind of a funny thing between my son Max and I and because he is very much, you know, Mom, I don't need your help. You know, and I and I and I don't. It's it's like it's a weird position to be in. Because when you truly make that transition in your relationship with your adult child where it's like, I'm here for you if you need me. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. I have plenty of opinions, of course. But also I'm going to choose to spend my time thinking

Christine Goforth(17:50.482)
Mm-hmm.

Samantha Bauer(18:11.2)
And engaging in things that are connected to my life, which is such a huge transition, right? And so, and it takes years, I think. I think honestly, there's there's plenty of you know parents with adult children that haven't fully made that transition, you know, and there's you know perhaps too much in in you know engagement again, but I'm not gonna stand in judgment. Everyone does you do you boo-boo, whatever works for you. but anyhow, so that was a long way of saying when I'll have conversations with Max and

Christine Goforth(18:15.558)
Right. That is

Christine Goforth(18:27.244)
Mm, of course.

Samantha Bauer(18:40.88)
And then he'll say, okay, mom, you I've got to get this lease, you know, for the new place, and you know, I need a new bed, I needed it. I'm like, and I just said, I can't care about that. And he just starts laughing. Because then he catches himself too. He's like, Okay, true. I can't pick and choose where my where my mom can engage in my life. It's either you're either kind of all in or kind of all out, and and you can't say, mom, I've got this, and then go, Well, can you do X, Y, and Z?

Christine Goforth(18:49.158)
Yeah.

Christine Goforth(18:52.891)
Yeah.

Christine Goforth(18:58.866)
Mm, that is

Christine Goforth(19:09.822)
You're not on standby to worry. Yeah. Yeah. Ooh, yeah. I always tell our kids, like, we will always be a backstop. If you're ever in trouble, like mom and dad will like you always have a home to come home to. we'll always be your backstop, but also like like I'm not gonna be your standby.

Samantha Bauer(19:12.59)
Correct. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So in yeah, it's

Samantha Bauer(19:21.538)
Yep.

Samantha Bauer(19:28.77)
Yes, absolutely.

Christine Goforth(19:36.716)
Help. I n now I need you. Now it's an emergency. Like right, right, right.

Samantha Bauer(19:40.227)
fixer or whatever. And and it was funny 'cause Maddie called a couple mornings ago and Max was getting ready to go to the gym and he was making some breakfast and so I put her on speaker and you know, whatever happened, it was just like it's probably connected to the wedding, whatever. So she's like da-da-da and da-da-da-da. And the old me would have immediately stepped in and been the fixer, like, okay, well this is how da da da and do this and do this. I literally just listened.

Samantha Bauer(19:40.227)
And just uh-huh, uh-huh. you know what, honey, this is the first of many frustrations that you're gonna have in planning, you know, the wedding and you know, and all these things. And it was just it wasn't like I didn't care. It's just I had, you know, I just my my response was no longer I'm gonna jump in and fix. I'll listen to you and just like to your point, I'll be the emotional backstop.

Christine Goforth(20:27.098)
Yes. Mm-hmm. The I I'm sure I have talked about it on the pod before, but the reaction versus response. Have we talked about that? Where it's like a reaction is the history of how you've behaved and done things, and your response is how who you really are now, but it's taking a lot more practice for that to become your automatic reaction, if that makes sense. And so

Samantha Bauer(20:38.38)
Yes. Yes.

Samantha Bauer(20:55.264)
Exactly. Yeah, no, for sure. Yeah.

Christine Goforth(20:57.104)
Yeah. I I'm curious to know how how do you think that was received differently from Maddie?

Samantha Bauer(21:05.558)
Actually I think i she wasn't yes, very right, right. And and I think she's more free, quite frankly, to share certain things 'cause she knows that I'm not going to, you know, respond in an aggressive way or tell her what's up, you need to do the da da da da. So it it opens the door more

Christine Goforth(21:07.046)
Like do you feel like she was more calm? Whereas maybe before it would have riled her up also?

Christine Goforth(21:24.37)
Mm-hmm.

Samantha Bauer(21:27.822)
for authentic conversation and communication because she now knows I she can be in a sharing mode. It's it's kinda right, Christine, it's it's like our c our relationships with our own husbands, right?

Christine Goforth(21:37.124)
It's literally creating space for each person. Go ahead. But yeah.

Samantha Bauer(21:43.009)
Yes. Yeah. But but you know, like when we're complaining to our husbands about, you know, I've got this problem, this problem, and right and they just want to be the fixer. And it's like, no, actually I just want to talk about it. I just I just want I j yeah, I just need a space, like you said, I just need my space to, you know, kinda air it out. So well, y I swear it we we literally just started, so it's it's time it's

Christine Goforth(21:48.452)
Mm. Yeah. I just need to

Christine Goforth(22:00.039)
This is st I d like I still have a lot to say.

Samantha Bauer(22:03.886)
Well, and and and the good news is there's always next time. So I do I I do want to close with it was a quote in this this article in Psychology Today was from the Buddhist scholar B. Alan Wallace. he said, We're living in a world that contributes in a major way to mental fragmentation, disintegration, distraction, and decoherence.

Christine Goforth(22:07.003)
Yeah.

Samantha Bauer(22:28.266)
And again, it goes back to the example, you know, I just gave about, you know, being in, you know, LA trial and where you're fully in the moment and n and everything in that fragmentation and the distraction, all of it went away. And it was it was it was a beautiful experience. And even my husband had reflected too. He said, I gotta tell you that's the first time in my career, recent career, where I was so fully focused on one thing.

Samantha Bauer(22:28.266)
thing and I didn't have to, you know, respond to 50 million things in one day. Because it was sort of like, hey, I'm out of office, I'm trial. Like period end of sentence. I can't

Christine Goforth(23:01.99)
Hmm.

Christine Goforth(23:06.246)
Well yeah, you can't be absolutely you can't be do yeah, I'm sorry. You can't be doing your job as a lawyer it during a trial and also be in the office doing admin and phone calls. Get out of here. No.

Samantha Bauer(23:17.09)
Right. Right. I can't solve your problem today because I'm in trial and there's one problem in front of me this week in trial and that's where I'm fully focused. And and yeah. Yeah. And so so it was it's just a great, great example of the importance of living in the moment, whatever that moment is. Because like you said, if you're in that moment, there are no problems. You have simply what is in front of you. And the only problem is something that your brain has created about a fear of what's gonna happen.

Christine Goforth(23:25.136)
And it is not you Yeah.

Christine Goforth(23:34.48)
Mm-hmm. Yep.

Christine Goforth(23:45.724)
Creating.

Samantha Bauer(23:48.452)
next. So next time I think Christine we're gonna dig a little deeper into the how of living in the here and now which we've we've we've kind of touched on before but we're gonna get a little deeper on some things that you can do to to help you know make sure that you're you're living in the moment and then in the here

Christine Goforth(23:55.78)
I love it.

Christine Goforth(24:07.28)
Yeah. Perfect. I can't wait.

Samantha Bauer(24:09.888)
Yes. All right. Well thank thank you everyone for joining us today on Sisters in Law of Attraction. I'm Sam. And we'll see you next time. Bye.

Christine Goforth(24:16.653)
